No alternative to library for reaching liberation war history to new generation: Khalid

DHAKA, Mar 15, 2021 (BSS) – State Minister for Cultural Affairs K M
Khalid today said there is no alternative to the library for reaching the
true history of the War of Liberation to the new generation.

“Writer, Publisher and intellectuals are contributing to reach the
accurate history of Liberation War to the new generation,” he said while
addressing as chief guest at a three-day long book fair and cultural
programme on Bangabandhu and Liberation War marking the birthday of Father of
the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children’s Day.

The National Book Centre organised the programme at the premises of the
Department of Public Libraries.

Director General of Department of Public Libraries Md Abubakar Siddique
and Chief Editor of Ekattor Television Mozammel Babu addressed the function
as special guests while Secretary of the Cultural Affairs Ministry Md Badrul
Arefin was in chair.

The director of National Book Center Minar Mansur gave a welcome speech
and Educationist Rupa Chakraborty recited poems at the programme.

Earlier State Minister K M Khalid inaugurated `Braille Corner’ at Sufia
Kamal National Public Library under the Department of Public Libraries. The
Founder and President of Sporsho Foundation Najia Zebin and senior officials
attended the function.
