DNCC sues three organisations for keeping stagnant water

DHAKA, March 15, 2021 (BSS) – Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) today
filed cases against three organisations for keeping stagnant water, which is
favorable for mosquito breeding.

“Regular cases have been filed with the court against the airport railway
station, civil aviation authority and authority of ASEAN City for keeping
mosquito ground’,” said Regional executive officer and executive magistrate
of DNCC’s Zone-6 Motakabbir Ahmed.

Mayor M Atiqul Islam today inspected the ongoing integrated mosquito
eradication operation (crash program) behind the airport railway station,
area adjacent to Haji Camp, ASEAN City area and Dakshinkhan Bazar area and
gave the direction to the DNCC officials to file cases.

The DNCC’s area-based crush program, which began on March 6 with the aim of
controlling Culex mosquitoes, continued for the seventh day till today.

During the mayor’s visit, DNCC Chief Executive Officer M Selim Reza, Chief
Health Officer Brigadier General Jobaidur Rahman, Regional Executive Officer
Motakabbir Ahmed, Councilor of Ward No- 46 Ali Akbar, Councilor of the
reserved seat Zakia Sultana were present.
