Qatar envoy calls on Speaker
DHAKA, March 15, 2021 (BSS) – Qatar’s Ambassador to Bangladesh Ahmed bin
Mohammed Al-Dehaimi made a courtesy call on the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Speaker
Dr Shirin Sharmin Choudhury at her office here today.
During the meeting, they discussed Covid-19 situation of both the
countries, development activities, celebration of the birth centenary of
Father of the Nation and Golden Jubilee of Independence of Bangladesh and
other issues of mutual interests, said a press release.
The Speaker said Qatar is a friendly country of Bangladesh and both the
countries have maintained good relations for a long in the bond of Muslim
brotherhood.
She expressed hope that this relationship would continue in the future as
well.
Dr Choudhury said Bangladesh has successfully tackled the Covid-19
situation and the government has continued its efforts to ensure vaccines to
all step-by-step.
Qatar envoy said it was a matter of pride that Bangladesh have a leader
like Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman who is one of the world leaders.
Concerned officials of the Parliament Secretariat were present on the
occasion.
