3,98,966 get COVID-19 vaccines in Rangpur

RANGPUR, Mar 13, 2021 (BSS) – The number of corona virus (COVID-19) vaccine recipient citizens rose to 3,98,966 with inoculation of 10,020 more people today at different government hospitals in Rangpur division.

“ A total of 10,020 citizens, who got inoculated with the COVID-19 vaccines today in the division, include 5,745 male and 4,275 female,” Rangpur Divisional Director (Health) Dr. Md. Ahad Ali told BSS tonight.

The total 3,98,966 citizens were vaccinated of whom 2,51,386 male and 1,47,580 female in all eight districts in the division.

“All vaccine recipients are leading normal life without remarkable side effects with the exception of 70 people who experienced temporary adverse events for a few minutes since February 7 last in the division,” Dr. Ali said.

The district-wise break-up of total 3,98,966 vaccine recipients stands at 84,239 in Rangpur, 32,335 in Panchagarh, 56,860 in Nilphamari, 28,786 in Lalmonirhat, 34,591 in Kurigram, 39,461 in Thakurgaon, 82,849 in Dinajpur and 39,845 in Gaibandha.

“Since launching of the COVID-19 vaccination campaign from February 7 last, registered citizens are rushing to the vaccination centers daily with huge eagerness to take the vaccines in a hassle-free manner,” Dr. Ali added.

Chief of Divisional Corona virus Service and Prevention Task Force and Principal of Rangpur Medical College Professor Dr. AKM Nurunnobi Lyzu said the vaccination campaign continues competently at government hospitals in the division.

“Common people should sincerely abide by the health directives to bring down the infection rate to the zero level as the infection rate is showing a rising trend again in the division during the last one week,” Dr. Lyzu added.
