4 drug peddlers held with 39 kg cannabis at Sonargaon, Aminbazar
DHAKA, March 12, 2021 (BSS) – Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-3) arrested three drug peddlers and seized 22 kilogram ‘ganja’ (cannabis) and 243 bottles of phensidyl from their possession in a drive in a passenger-bus in Sonargaon thana area of Narayanganj on Thursday.
The arrestees are identified as Md Nur Islam, 38, Md Yasin, 20 and Md Saddad Hossain, 20. All of them are from Cumilla.
RAB-3 assistant superintendent of police (media) Farjana Haque confirmed it to BSS.
Acting on a tip-off, members of RAB conducted a drive in the passenger bus in Malibagh area under Sonargaon thana in Narayanganj district in the afternoon on Thursday and arrested them with cannabis and phensidyl.
On primary interrogation, the arrestees admitted their involvement with drug peddling.
In separate drive, members of RAB-4 arrested a drug peddler and seized 17.60 kilogram cannabis from his possession in Aminbazar area under Savar model thana in Dhaka district on Thursday.
The arrestee is identified as Md Shah Alam, of Cumilla.
RAB-4 assistant superintendent of police (media) Md Ziaur Rahman Chowdhury confirmed it to BSS today.
A microbus, which is allegedly used as carrying illegal drugs, was also seized in this connection.
