Experts for improving standard of higher education
DHAKA, July 16, 2018 (BSS) – Educationists at a meeting today focused on
improving standard of higher education through introducing better education
system.
The authorities of both public and private universities should intensify
research alongside introducing modern education method to keep up with the
demand of job markets, they told the meeting at the University Grants
Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh auditorium here, a press release said.
An interactive discussion meeting on ‘System Approach for Better
Education Results in Tertiary Education (SABER-TE)’ was held aiming to
discuss different aspects of higher education.
Important components of higher education including vision, regulatory
framework, quality assurance, governance, finance, enrolment, teaching,
learning, research, admission test, teachers’ training, publication and
relevance of tertiary education were discussed in the meeting.
UGC Member Professor Dr. Mohammad Yousuf Ali Mollah, presided over the
meeting while Dr. Koen Geven, Education Specialist, Global Engagement and
Knowledge Education, World Bank Group (Education), presented the keynote
paper.
