Govt strengthens wildlife and forest conservation programmes: Shahab Uddin

DHAKA, Mar 11, 2021 (BSS) – Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Md Shahab Uddin today said the government has strengthened the programmes of wildlife and forest conservation aiming to build a prosperous Bangladesh.

“To ensure a sustainable forest management, illegal forest dwellers must get out of the forests. I seek cooperation from all to recover forest land from encroachers and conserve these forests,” he told a discussion in the capital.

The Forest Department arranged the discussion titled, “Sustainable Forest and Prosperous Bangladesh” at Bana Bhaban, Agargaon, marking the golden jubilee of the country’s independence.

Chaired by chief conservator of forest Md Amir Hosain Chowdhury, the discussion was addressed, among others, by director general of the Department of Environment (DoE) Dr AKM Rafique Ahammed and Prokriti O Jibon Foundation chairman Muqeed Majumder Babu.
