Woman killed in city road accident
DHAKA, Mar 10, 2021 (BSS) – A woman was killed in a road accident when a
bus hit her in front of National Heart Foundation in the city this
afternoon.
The victim was Rehana Begum, 50, wife of Jasim Uddin of Kondarpur village
under Shibpur upazila of Narsingdi district.
DMCH police confirmed the incident saying the accident occurred around 12
pm while Rehana was trying to cross the road and got hit by a ‘Welcome
Paribahan’ bus.
Rehana was rushed to Suhrawardy Hospital and later to Dhaka Medical
College Hospital (DMCH) where the attending doctor declared her dead.
The body was kept in the DMCH morgue for autopsy. Police rushed the spot
and seized the bus, the official added.
According to family sources, Rehana, mother of three children, was sick.
She came to Dhaka for better treatment.
