None should be allowed to buy politics: Hasan

JAYPURHAT, March 10, 2021 (BSS) – Terming the politics as a great vow,
Awami League Joint General Secretary and Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud
today said none should be allowed to buy politics in exchange of money.

“Politics is a great vow and the people should come in leadership, who have
dedication and sacrificing mentality for the party. Therefore, none should be
allowed to buy politics in exchange of money,” he told the triennial
conference of Awami League Kalai upazila unit of the district held on the
Kalai Government Women Degree College ground.

About Union Parishad (UP) polls, Hasan said BNP has no confidence on the
mass people. ” That’s why, they have already declared that it (BNP) would not
take part in the Union Parishad polls,” he added.

The minister said once Begum Khaleda Zia told that Awami League could not
construct the Padma Bridge, but reality is that construction works of the
bridge is nearing completion.

The country, he said, has reached a new height under the dynamic leadership
of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The premier has introduced a number of social safety net programmes
including widow, maternity and old age allowances, he added. Hasan said the
country is now a role model before the globe under the dynamic leadership of
Bangabandhu’s worthy daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Whip Abu Saied Al Mahmud Swapan, MP, Advocate Samsul Alam Dudu, MP, AL
Heath Affairs Secretary Dr Rokeya Sultana and Organizing Secretary SM Kamal
Hossain addressed the conference as special guests with convener of the
conference Abdul Kader Mandal in the chair.

Zila Parishad Chairman and AL Jaypurhat district unit president Md Arifur
Rahman inaugurated the conference, while general secretary Md Jakir Hossain
spoke as the key speaker.

AL leaders Raja Chowdhury, Advocate Momin Ahmed Chowdhury GP and Advocate
Nipendranath Manadal also spoke on the occasion.

Earlier, the minister exchanged views with journalists of the district.

In the view exchange meeting, Hasan said approval has been given to some
online news portals after scrutinizing and scrutinizing for other portals is
going on.

He urged the journalists to work devotedly with the spirit of the great
Liberation War.
