One held with 24-kg ganja in Rangpur
RANGPUR, March 9, 2021 (BSS) – Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 seized 24 kg
of smuggled ganja, a mini truck and arrested a presumed drug trader from
Amashu Kukrul Dakshinpara area under Porshuram police station in the
metropolis today.
“Acting on a tip off, an operational team of RAB-13 set up a check post
there and searched the mini truck and arrested drug trader Nurul Islam, 45,
of Rangpur with the ganja, the vehicle and a mobile phone set at 1:25 pm,” a
press release said.
During primary interrogation, the arrested person admitted that he had been
involved in drug trading for a long time.
“After filing a case against the arrested drug trader in this connection,
the elite force handed over him to Porshuram police station of Rangpur
Metropolitan Police,” the release added.
