DHAKA, March 9, 2021 (BSS) – A Dhaka court today placed an accused on
two-day remand in a case lodged over the death of a university student Tajrin
Mostafa Moumita, 19, who died after mysteriously falling from rooftop of
their seven-storied building in capital’s Kalabagan area.

Dhaka Additional Metropolitan Magistrate Asaduzzaman Nur passed the order
as police produced Amir Hamza Adnan before the court and pleaded to place him
on five-day remand.

According to the case documents, Moumita used to live with her family at
house number 2, road number 8 at Kalabagan. Faijer, son of the owner of the
building, used to hang out with his friends on the rooftop. He along with his
friends allegedly used to tease Moumita.

At around 4.30pm on February 26, Moumita went to the rooftop and at
around 6pm, Moumita’s family learned that she fell from the roof. They rushed
him to hospital, where the attending doctors declared her dead.

Moumita’s father Md Kalam Mostafa Khan Shamim on March 1 filed the case
with Kalabagan Police Station.
