3,56,844 get COVID-19 vaccines in Rangpur division

RANGPUR, March 8, 2021 (BSS) – The total number of the coronavirus (COVID-
19) vaccine recipient citizens rose to 3,56,844 with vaccination of more
11,813 people today in Rangpur division.

“The 11,813 citizens inoculated today with the COVID-19 vaccines at
different government hospitals in the division include 6,912 male and 4,901
female,” Rangpur Divisional Director (Health) Dr. Md. Ahad Ali told BSS.

The total 3,56,844 citizens vaccinated so far with COVID-19 vaccines
include 2,26,204 male and 1,30,640 female of all eight districts across the
division.

“The vaccine recipients are feeling okay without side effects though only
68 among them experienced temporary adverse events for a few minutes since
February 7 last in the division,” Dr Ali said.

The district-wise break-up of 3,56,844 vaccine recipients stands at 72,780
in Rangpur, 30,285 in Panchagarh, 51,130 in Nilphamari, 25,889 in
Lalmonirhat, 30,765 in Kurigram, 36,510 in Thakurgaon, 75,520 in Dinajpur and
33,965 in Gaibandha of the division.

“Registered citizens are rushing to the vaccination centres daily with
keenness to take vaccines since launching of the COVID-19 vaccination
campaign in the division from February 7 last,” Dr Ali added.

Chief of Divisional Coronavirus Service and Prevention Task Force and
Principal of Rangpur Medical College Professor Dr AKM Nurunnobi Lyzu said
citizens are being vaccinated at government hospitals in a hassle-free manner
in the division.

“Common people should abide by the health directives and wear masks while
remaining outside even after taking the COVID-19 vaccines to check further
spread of the deadly virus and bring down the infection rate to the zero
level,” Dr Lyzu added.
