RAJSHAHI, March 8, 2021 (BSS) – With the recovery of 15 more coronavirus
infected persons on Sunday, the total number of cured patients from (Covid-
19) reached 24,356 in the division, said an official report today.
A total of 3,002 infected patients are now undergoing treatment at
designated hospitals here, it added.
Dr Habibul Ahsan Talukder, divisional director of health, said the death
toll from the virus rose to 398, including 252 in Bogura and 55 in Rajshahi,
with no fatality reported afresh today.
Besides, all the positive cases for COVID-19 have, so far, been brought
under necessary treatment while 6,580 were kept in isolation units of
different hospitals for institutional supervision. Of them, 5,953 have
already been released.
Meanwhile, with the detection of 12 new positive cases in three districts
here on Sunday, one of the lowest in daily infection like the previous couple
of days, the total number of infected patients rose to 25,729, Dr Habibul
said.
Of the new positive cases, the highest seven were detected in Rajshahi
city, followed by two each in Sirajganj and Pabna and one in Natore
districts.
With the newly detected cases, the district-wise break-up of the COVID-19
patients now stand at 6,097 in Rajshahi including 4,600 in its city, 824 in
Chapainawabganj, 1,641 in Naogaon, 1,249 in Natore, 1,367 in Joypurhat,
10,024 in Bogura, 2,790 in Sirajganj and 1,737 in Pabna.
On the other hand, 17 more persons have been sent to home and institutional
quarantine afresh while none were released from quarantine in the division
over the last 24 hours till 8 am today.
A total of 66,150 people have, so far, been kept under quarantine since
March 10 last year to prevent community transmission of the coronavirus
(COVID-19).
Of them, 65,235 have, by now, been released as they were given clearance
certificates after completing their respective 14-day quarantine period.
