Nanak asks BNP leader Minu to apologize for comments over 1975

DHAKA, March 7, 2021 (BSS) – Awami League Presidium Member Jahangir Kabir Nanak today said Mizanur Rahman Minu, advisor to the BNP chairperson, must have to apologize to the nation for making comments on ‘repeating August 15, 1975 like incidents’ at the party’s Rajshahi divisional rally on March 3.

He said this while addressing a discussion of Krishak League marking the historic March 7 at Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at Dhanmondi road number 32 here.

Nanak urged the government for bringing Minu to justice for making such comments.

Nanak said playing the record of March 7 speech was banned after the assassination of Bangabandhu on August 15, 1975 while AL leaders and workers were arrested for playing the speech.

The perpetrators wanted to erase everything of the March 7 speech, he added.

“Today BNP is observing March 7 speech. It is a part their conspiracy at home and abroad,” he said.

Krishak League president Samir Chanda presided over the discussion while AL Joint General Secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim, Swechchhasebak League general secretary Afzalur Rahman Babu, among others, spoke on the occasion.

Krishak League general secretary Umme Kulsum Smriti moderated it.
