Four more reported COVID-19 positive in Rangpur division

RANGPUR, March 7, 2021 (BSS) – Four more people were detected for COVID-19
positive today raising the total number of infected patients to 15,868 in all
eight districts of Rangpur division.

Health officials said the four new cases were reported after diagnosing
143 samples at the daily infection rate of 2.80 percent today in the
division.

Among the four new patients, three were reported positive after diagnosing
94 samples at the COVID-19 Laboratory at Rangpur Medical College (RpMC) in
Rangpur city.

“The three new patients include two from Rangpur and one from Nilphamari
districts,” said Chief of Divisional Coronavirus Service and Prevention Task
Force and Principal of Rangpur Medical College Professor Dr. AKM Nurunnobi
Lyzu.

Meanwhile, one new patient hailing from Dinajpur district was reported
positive after diagnosing 49 samples at the COVID-19 Laboratory at M Abdur
Rahim Medical College (MARMC) in Dinajpur today.

Talking to BSS, Focal Person of COVID-19 and Assistant Director (Health)
for Rangpur division Dr. ZA Siddiqui said the number of COVID-19 patients
rose to 15,868 as four new positive cases were reported from across the
division today.

“The district-wise break up of total 15,868 patients stands at 4,053 in
Rangpur, 795 in Panchagarh, 1,339 in Nilphamari, 966 in Lalmonirhat, 1,021 in
Kurigram, 1,513 in Thakurgaon, 4,716 in Dinajpur and 1,465 in Gaibandha,” Dr.
Siddiqui added.
