Humayun for modernising NPO

DHAKA, March 7, 2021 (BSS) – Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun today underscored the need for strengthening and modernizing the National Productivity Organisation (NPO) to cope with the competitive world after graduation from the Least Developed Countries (LDCs).

“In order to sustain in competition after graduation from LDCs, we will have to give the highest priority on increasing the quality and quantity of products,” he said.

The minister said this while presiding over the National Productivity Council (NPC) meeting at the Industries Ministry conference room in the city, said a press release.

State Minister for Industries Kamal Ahmed Mojumder was the vice chairman of the meeting while Industries Secretary KM Ali Azam was present on the occasion.

NPO Director and NPC Member Secretary Nishcinto Kumar Poddar moderated the meeting.

Humayun said Bangladesh has occupied a seat of high status in the world under the prudent policy and dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

“There is no alternative to increasing productivity for continuing the trend of development,” he added.

Kamal Mojumder said Bangladesh has to increase the national productivity along with the steps taken by the government to build the golden Bengal as per the dream of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

“For this, we will have to turn our youth into skilled manpower for implementing the national productivity master plan,” he added.
