‘VAT one stop services week’ held in six districts

DHAKA, March 6, 2021 (BSS) – The Cumilla Commissionarate organized ‘VAT one stop services week’ at six districts under its jurisdiction to motivate people in paying VAT alongside popularizing the Electronic Fiscal Device (EFD).

The concerned VAT officials under Cumilla Commissionarate provided one stop services to the service seekers at renowned and visible super markets, shopping malls and other suitable places from 10 am to 4 pm at Cumilla, Chandpur, Brahmanbaria, Noakhali, Laxmipur and Feni districts from February 28 to March 4.

Talking to BSS, Commissioner of Cumilla Commissionarate Mohammad Belal Hossain Chowdhury said that the “VAT one stop services week” was organized to motivate common people and other stakeholders to pay VAT and also to motivate people in using EFDs.

“Besides, another goal was to provide services to the concerned stakeholders after reaching them,” he added.

He informed that more than one both was in operation in each district where a revenue official along with two assistant revenue officials provided services to the service seekers.

Apart from this, Belal said that campaign was conducted through loudspeakers about the “VAT one stop services week” at the local district markets and other place of gatherings as well as conducted campaign at facebook group to motivate VAT payers.

Side by side the commissioner said bulk SMS were sent to the VAT payers and other stakeholders, online registration and return submission related services were provided. The VAT payers were also informed about the use of EFDs.

Belal said, “The common people are not so well informed about the new VAT Act. So, such initiative of Cumilla Commissionarate will continue to create awareness among people on VAT payment marking the Mujib Borsho so that people feel motivated in paying VAT with transparency.”
