Three Hijbut men arrested in city
DHAKA, March 6, 2021 (BSS) – Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested three
members of outlawed Hijbut Tahrir from the city’s Sutrapur area on Thursday
night, police said today.
The arrested were identified as Atikur Rahaman, Maksudur Rahaman and SM
Shojib.
The police personnel recovered five books written by Syed Abul A’la
Maududi, a monthly report consisting 11 pages, an annual report of 2019-2020
session consisting 24 pages, a spiral binding book of 45 pages and a note pad
from their possession.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sutrapur Police Station Muhammad Mamunur Rahaman
today confirmed the news to BSS and said they were arrested during an
operation conducted in the DIT Market area of Sutrapur thana at around 08:45
pm on Thursday last.
He said the arrestees were supporters of outlawed Hijbut Tahrir and they
had been carrying out anti-state conspiracies for a long time.
A case was filed with the Sutrapur Police Station in this connection, the
OC added.
