Brizolara secures Ctg. Abahani’s fifth win
DHAKA, March 6, 2021 (BSS)- Chittagong Abahani Limited earned their fifth win in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football when they recorded a hard-fought solitary goal victory over Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra held today at Bangabandhu National Stadium here.
The match was locked goalless at the breather. In the first half of the match, both Chittagong Abahani and Muktijoddha Sangsad KC launched attacks and counter attacks from the beginning of the match but could not find any goal.
After the resumption, Brazilian forward Nixon Brizolara finally break the deadlock scoring the all-important goal for Chittagong Abahani Limited in the 77th minute of the match. After that, Muktijoddha however tried heart and soul to fight back in the remaining proceeding but failed to score any lacks of proper finishing.
The port city team Chittagong Abahani Limited played better football in proceeding , especially in the second half, and notched their deserving victory on the day while the freedom fighters Muktijoddha Sangsad KC were off-colored.
With the day’s win, Chittagong Abahani Limited improved their tally with 19 points, equal with Mohammedan Sporting Club who have also 19 points, from 12 matches while Muktijoddha Sangsad KC remained at their previous credit of nine points playing the same number of outings.
Sunday’s match: Lieutenant Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club vs Mohammedan Sporting Club at 4 pm at the same venue.
