DHAKA, Mar 4, 2021 (BSS) – In an attempt to retain normal flow of the
river, the parliamentary standing committee on the Ministry of Land today
recommended for undertaking eviction drive against those who already have
encroached the rivers through piling or installation of pillars.
The recommendation came at the 10th meeting of the committee held at the
Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban here with committee chairman M Mokbul Hossen in the
chair.
The committee also discussed about implementation progress on
‘establishment of digital land management system project in three City
Corporation, one municipality and two rural upazilas’ through land digital
land survey.
The JS body recommends form a three-member committee led by Monoranjan Shil
Gopal for resolving the land problem under the Bhawal raj state. Other
committee members are M Habibur Rahman and M Anwarul Azim (Anar).
Committee members Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury, M Habibur Rahman, M
Anwarul Azim (Anar), Nesar Ahmad, Umme Fatema Nazma Begum and M Aminul Islam,
among others, attended the meeting.
The committee at the outset of the meeting expressed deep shock and sorrow
at the death of Prime Minister’s political advisor HT Imam.
