Rahmatganj force 10-men Sheikh Jamal to split point

DHAKA, March 2, 2021 (BSS)- It was an outstanding display by Rahmatganj
Muslim and Friends Society as they came from behind forced 10-men Lieutenant
Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club to play a 1-1 goal draw in the Bangladesh Premier
League (BPL) Football held today at Bangabandhu National Stadium (BNS) here.

It was the fifth occasions, Sheikh Jamal DC have to lose valuable points
in the ongoing league after the day’s result because despite standing second
spot in the points table, the points difference with league leaders
Bashundhara Kings now become more bigger with the day’s outcome.

With the day’s result, Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club secured 23 points from
11 matches as the old Dhaka outfit Rahmatganj Musliom and Friends Society
stand at ninth position with 10 points playing the same number of matches.
Bashundhara Kings maintained their domination in the league table with 34
points from 12 matches.

After the barren first half, Uzbekistan forward Otabek Validjanov finally
broke the deadlock scoring the first goal for Sheikh Jamal DC in the 49th
minute of the match.

But, the lead lasted for couple of minutes when Ivorian forward Lorougnon
Christ Remi brought Rahmatganj back in the match to level the margin scoring
a goal in the 51st minute of the match. After that, Sheikh Jamal tried heart
and soul to take further lead in the remaining proceeding but could not
penetrate the net against the Rahmatganj’s packed defense.

Sheikh Jamal’s Gambian forward Sulayman Sillah was shown red card by
referee in the 90+4th minute following the double yellow cards.

Rahmatganj will play their next match against Arambagh Krira Sangha
