GAIBANDHA, March 2, 2021 (BSS) – The National Voter Day-2021 was observed
in the district as elsewhere in the country today with the theme of “If you
are eighteen- don’t be late to be a voter.” Marking the day, the district
election office chalked out elaborate programmes.
The day’s programme began through releasing balloons on the premises of
district election office in the morning.
Later, a discussion was held there in limited scale due to the coronavirus
pandemic situation.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Abdul Matin attended the function as the chief
guest while district election officer Md. Abdul Mottalib presided over it.
Sadar upazila election officer Abdul Latif delivered welcome speech in the
function.
DC Abdul Matin in his speeches said the election commission is playing
significant and responsible role in holding polls in every phase, including
local government and national elections in the country.
Later, the smart cards were distributed to the people who became voters in
2019.
