113 more test positive for COVID-19 in Ctg
CHATTOGRAM, March 1, 2021 (BSS) – A total of 113 people were detected
positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours after testing 1,409 samples at
seven COVID-19 laboratories in the district.
The number of coronavirus (COVID-19) positive cases reached 34,999 marks
while the infection rate is 8.9 percent, Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, civil surgeon
of Chattogram, told BSS.
Among the total 34,999 coronavirus infected persons, 27,561 are the
residents of the port city and the rest 7,531 are the inhabitants of
different upazilas of the district.
Among the newly detected patients, 93 are from Chattogram city and 20 from
different upazilas of the district, hospital sources said.
“The number of cured patients from the lethal virus infection has reached
at 32,181 in the district on Saturday with recovery of 60 more patients,” the
health official said, adding that the percentage of recovery rate stands at
92.12.
A total of 1,012 infected patients are now undergoing treatment at
designated hospitals here, he mentioned.
The death toll from the virus rose to 373 while two fatalities reported
afresh in the last 24 hours, Dr Rabbi added.
Among the reported fatalities, 274 were the residents of the port city and
the rest 101 were from different upazilas of the district.
