Speaker off to Netherlands
DHAKA, July 15, 2018 (BSS) – Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin
Chaudhury today left Dhaka for Netherlands to attend the Commemoration of the
20th Anniversary of the adoption of the Rome Statute.
The International Criminal Court (ICC) is arranging the function.
Besides, the Speaker will deliver her speech at a symposium on ‘Enduring
Value of the Rome Statute to Humanity’ on July 17, an official release said.
Rome Statute President O-Gon Kwon, ICC President Judge Chile Eboe-Osuji
and ICC Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda will also take part in the symposium.
Senior Secretary of Parliamentary Secretariat Dr Mohammad Abdur Rob
Hawlader and senior officials of the Jaitya Sangsad saw the Speaker off at
Hazrat Shahjalal (R) International Airport.
Shirin Sharmin is scheduled to return home on July 19.
