2,73,977 get COVID-19 vaccines in Rangpur division

RANGPUR, Feb 27, 2021 (BSS) – The total number of the coronavirus
(COVID-19) vaccine recipient citizens rose to 2,73,977 with immunisation of
more 10,510 people today at different government hospitals in Rangpur
division.

“The 10,510 citizens, who were inoculated with the COVID-19 vaccines
today in the division, include 6,140 males and 4,370 females,” Rangpur
Divisional Director (Health) Dr. Md. Ahad Ali told BSS this evening.

The total 2,73,977 citizens immunised so far with COVID-19 vaccines
include 1,77,360 males and 96,917 females of all eight districts in the
division.

“All of the vaccine recipients are leading normal life without
remarkable side effects though 66 of them experienced temporary adverse
events for a few minutes since February 7 last,” Dr. Ali said.

The district-wise break-up of total 2,73,977 vaccine recipients stands
at 52,736 in Rangpur, 24,608 in Panchagarh, 36,550 in Nilphamari, 19,865 in
Lalmonirhat, 24,913 in Kurigram, 30,526 in Thakurgaon, 59,110 in Dinajpur and
25,669 in Gaibandha of the division.

“Since launching of the COVID-19 vaccination campaign from February 7
last, hundreds of registered citizens are rushing to the vaccination centers
daily to take the vaccines,” Dr. Ali added.

Talking to BSS, Chief of Divisional Coronavirus Service and Prevention
Task Force and Principal of Rangpur Medical College Professor Dr. AKM
Nurunnobi Lyzu said brilliant management has been ensured at government
hospitals for immunising citizens.

The vaccine recipient citizens are feeling no notable side effects since
launching of the COVID-19 vaccination campaign from February 7 last in
Rangpur division and they are leading quite a normal life.

“All people should abide by the health directives and wear masks while
remaining outside even after taking the vaccines to bring down the infection
rate of the deadly virus to the zero level in the division and the country as
a whole,” Dr. Lyzu added.
