24,157 recover from Covid-19 in Rajshahi division
RAJSHAHI, Feb 26, 2021 (BSS) – With the recovery of 11 more patients on Thursday, the total number of cured patients from coronavirus (Covid-19) infection reached 24,157 in the division, said an official report.
A total of 2,987 infected patients are now undergoing treatment at designated hospitals here, it added.
Dr Habibul Ahsan Talukder, divisional director of health, said the death toll from the virus rose to 396, including 250 in Bogura and 55 in Rajshahi, with no fatality reported on the third consecutive day today.
Besides, all the positive cases for COVID-19 have, so far, been brought under necessary treatment while 6,563 were kept in isolation units of different hospitals for institutional supervision. Of them, 5,878 have already been released.
Meanwhile, with the detection of 14 new positive cases in five districts here on Thursday, one of the ever-lowest in daily infection like the previous couple of weeks, the total number of infected patients rose to 25,624, Dr Habibul said.
Of the new positive cases, the highest nine were detected in Bogura, followed by two in Naogaon and one each in Rajshahi city, Sirajgaonj and Pabna districts. With the newly detected cases, the district-wise break-up of the COVID-19 patients now stand at 6,060 in Rajshahi including 4,565 in its city, 824 in Chapainawabganj, 1,636 in Naogaon, 1,244 in Natore, 1,364 in Joypurhat, 10,001 in Bogura, 2,780 in Sirajganj and 1,715 in Pabna.
On the other hand, 18 more persons have been sent to home and institutional quarantine afresh while 15 others were released in the division over the last 24 hours till 8 am today.
A total of 65,981 people have, so far, been kept under quarantine since March 10 last year to prevent community transmission of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
Of them, 65,026 have, by now, been released as they were given clearance certificates after completing their respective 14-day quarantine period.
