DHAKA, Feb 25, 2021 (BSS) – The Parliamentary Standing Committee on
Ministry of Defense today recommended awarding the Combined Military Hospital
(CMH), Dhaka with prestigious ‘Independence Award’ of this year for its
outstanding contribution in healthcare services, including handling the
coronavirus patients efficiently with due courage.
The recommendation came from the 13th meeting of the parliamentary body
held at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban here with its chairman Mohammad Subid Ali
Bhuiyan presiding.
The committee members Muhammad Faruque Khan, M Illius Uddin Molla, M
Motahar Hossen, M Nasir Uddin, M Mahibbur Rahman and Nahid Ijahar Khan, among
others, attended the meeting.
The committee also recommended developing the Space Research and Remote
Sensing Organization(SPARSO) as an ultra-modern organization through
necessary manpower recruitment, infrastructural and technological development
in light of Vision 2041.
Besides, the committee made a recommendation to hand over 8 acres land of
Nuclear Energy Research organization located at Savar in Dhaka to the SPARSO.
Senior secretary of the Defense Ministry, other senior officials and
member of the armed forces, including the chief of air staff, were present at
the meeting.
