Bangladesh envoy calls on Rector of King Khalid University
DHAKA, Feb 25, 2021 (BSS) – Bangladesh ambassador to Saudi Arabia Mohammad Javed Patwary called on Rector of King Khalid University Dr Faleh bin Raja Allah Al-Salami located at Abha under Asir Region of Saudi Arabia on Wednesday.
During the meeting, the ambassador requested the Rector to increase the number of scholarships for Bangladeshi students at the university.
Patwary also called upon King Khalid University to jointly conduct research, exchange students and recruit Bangladeshi teachers.
During the time, rector Dr Faleh bin Raja Allah Al-Salami welcomed the ambassador’s proposal, saying his university is interested in all of these issues and would extend maximum cooperation, including funding.
The ambassador also paid a courtesy call on the Abha Chamber of Commerce Secretary General Dr Riyad A Al- Ogran at latter’s office yesterday.
Patwary also met with the Chief of Police of Asir region Major General Abdul Aziz Al-Maghlud yesterday.
The ambassador thanked the Chief of Police for providing security to about 3 lakh expatriate Bangladeshis living in the area at that time.
The police chief praised Bangladeshis living in the province of Asir for complying with Saudi Arabian law and for being less involved in criminal activities.
