DHAKA, Feb 25, 2021 (BSS) – A Dhaka court today ordered authorities concerned to attach total 5, 706 bighas of land and seize 55 different kinds of vehicles owned by sacked Faridpur city unit Awami League general secretary Sazzad Hossain Barkat and his brother Imtiyaj Hasan Rubel in a case lodged over laundering abroad Taka 2,000 crore.
The court also ordered to seize Taka around 9.45 crore from 188 bank accounts of the two brothers in the case.
Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge KM Imrul Qayesh passed the order, allowing a plea of investigation agency Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in this regard.
CID inspector SM Miraj Al Mahmud filed the case against the siblings on June 26, 2020, for amassing Taka 2,000 crore illegally and laundering the money abroad.
