SAVAR, Feb 25, 2021 (BSS) – A student of Jahangirnagar University (JU)
was killed in a road accident at Bagatipara upazila in Natore district on
Wednesday night.
The deceased was identified as Abdullah Al Mahmud Shafi, a third year
student of the Public Administration Department of the university and
resident of the same district.
Professor Dr. Md. Nurul Amin, chairman of the Public Administration
Department confirmed the matter today.
The accident occurred in the area when motorcycle rider Shafi hit a
roadside tree as he lost control over the bike. He was going to Bonpara
station to receive his mother, said his friend Monirul.
Critically injured Shafi was admitted to Bagatipara Upazila Health
Complex.
At night, he was shifted to Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital where
the on-duty doctor declared him dead at around 2.00 am, said Monir.
JU Vice-Chancellor Professor Farzana Islam and JUPA chairman Prof. Dr.
Nurul Amin today expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of Shafi.
In a condolence message, the VC said “We have lost a meritorious student
at the premature death of Shafi”.
The VC prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep
sympathy to the bereaved family members.
