Two fined Tk. 35,000 for producing fake cosmetics in Rangpur
RANGPUR, Feb 24, 2021 (BSS) – A mobile court in two separate anti-adulteration drives seized huge fake cosmetics produced at homes of local and foreign brands and other goods worth Taka five lakh and penalised two persons Taka 35,000 here today.
“The Detective Branch (DB) of Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RpMP) initiated the mobile court led by Executive Magistrate Tanuka Bhowmick to stop production and marketing of fake and adulterated products in the city,” said a press release.
In the first raid, the mobile court seized huge fake cosmetics with other goods worth Taka two lakh from the rented house of one Mizanur Rahman at Shalbon Mistripara area of the city and fined him Taka 15,000 on the spot.
In the another raid, the mobile court seized huge fake cosmetics with other goods worth Taka three lakh from the rented house of one Mehedi Hasan at Keranipara Staff Quarter in the city and fined him Taka 20,000 on the spot.
The mobile court also destroyed the seized fake and adulterated cosmetics and other goods.
Additional Deputy Police Commissioner (DB) of RpMP Uttam Kumar Pathak, its Inspector ABM Feroz Wahid, Sub-inspectors Md. Golam Morshed and Md. Nazmul Islam and other officials participated in the raids.
