Construction worker dies in rooftop fall in city
DHAKA, Feb 24, 2021 (BSS) – A construction worker identified as Mizanur
Rahman, 55, died today after falling from the rooftop of an under-
construction building at Old Fulkuri School intersection area under Demra
police station here, police and hospital sources said.
“The accident occurred at around 12 noon . . . He fell from the rooftop of
a six-storey under construction building while working there,” police
Inspector Md Bacchchu Mia of the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH)
outpost told BSS.
Mizanur’s fellow colleagues rescued him in a critical condition and rushed
him to DMCH, where dolor declared him dead at around 1pm, said a medical
source.
Hailing from Noatola village under Muradnagar upazila of Cumilla district,
the deceased used to live at Sanarpar of Siddhirganj police station in
Narayanganj district. He was blessed with two sons.
Police said the body was sent to the hospital morgue for autopsy.
