24,128 recover from Covid-19 in Rajshahi division

RAJSHAHI, Feb 24, 2021 (BSS) – With the recovery of 61 more patients on
Tuesday, the number of cured patients from Coronavirus infection has reached
24,128 in the division, said an official report.

A total of 2,982 infected patients are now undergoing treatment at
designated hospitals here, it added.

Dr Habibul Ahsan Talukder, divisional director of health said the death
toll from the virus rose to 396 including 250 in Bogura and 55 in Rajshahi
with no fatality reported afresh today.

Besides, all the positive cases for COVID-19 have, so far, been brought
under necessary treatment while 6,559 were kept in isolation units of
different hospitals for institutional supervision. Of them, 5,877 have
already been released.

Meanwhile, with the detection of seven new positive cases in five
districts here on Tuesday, one of the ever-lowest in daily infection among
the previous couple of weeks, the total number of infected patients rose to
25,605, Dr Habibul said.

Of the new positive cases, two each were detected in Naogaon and Bogura,
followed by one each in Rajshahi city, Joypurhat and Pabna districts.

With the newly detected cases, the district-wise break-up of the COVID-
19 patients now stand at 6,058 in Rajshahi including 4,563 in its city, 824
in Chapainawabganj, 1,634 in Naogaon, 1,244 in Natore, 1,364 in Joypurhat,
9,988 in Bogura, 2,779 in Sirajganj and 1,714 in Pabna.

On the other hand, 14 more persons have been sent to home and
institutional quarantine afresh while 20 others were released in the division
over the last 24 hours till 8 am today.

A total of 65,949 people have, so far, been kept under quarantine since
March 10 last year to prevent community transmission of the coronavirus
(COVID-19).

Of them, 64,977 have, by now, been released as they were given clearance
certificates after completing their respective 14-day quarantine period.
