A factory fined Tk. 40,000 for producing adulterated rice

RANGPUR, Feb 24, 2021 (BSS) – A mobile court seized huge adulterated fine
varieties of rice and other goods worth Taka 10 lakh from a factory and
penalised its owner Taka 40,000 in Parbatipur Pirjabad Jogiapara area here on
Tuesday afternoon.

“The Detective Branch (DB) of Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RpMP)
associated the mobile court led by Executive Magistrate Nashitatul Islam to
stop production and marketing of fake and adulterated products in the
metropolis,” said a press release today.

The court conducted a raid at ‘Omar Enterprise’ under Kotwali Thana of RpMP
and seized adulterated rice of ‘Malla Chinigura’, ‘Meem Chinigura’ and
‘Garial Chinigura’ brands along with fish feeds, chips, salt and other goods.

Later, the court fined the owner of adulterated rice production factory
‘Omar Enterprise’ Md. Jahurul Islam, 45, son of late Solaiman Ali of nearby
Parbotipur Master Para township in the city Taka 40,000.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (DB) of RpMP Uttam Kumar Pathak,
Inspector Md. Motaleb Hossain, Sub-inspectors Golam Morshed and Nazmul Islam
and other officials were present.
