Ctg Abahani notch fourth win in BPL

DHAKA, Feb. 23, 2021 (BSS) – Chittagong Abahani Limited recorded their
fourth win in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football when they blanked
traditional old Dhaka outfit Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society by 2-0
goals held today at Bangabandhu National Stadium (BNS) here.

The day’s win saw, Chittagong Abahani Limited secured 15 points from 10
matches while Rahmatganj MFS remained at their previous credit of eight
points from nine outings.

In the day’s match, Nigerian midfielder Matthew Chinedu and medio Mannaf
Rabby scored one goal each in both halves to secure Chittagong Abahani’s
victory on the day.

Matthew Chinedu opened an account scoring the first goal for the port city
team early in the 7th minute while Rabby sealed the victory scoring the
second goal for Abahani in the 83rd minute of the match.

Chittagong Abahani clearly dominated the entire proceeding and notched
their deserving victory while Rahmatganj were totally off-colored on the day.
Chittagong Abahani Limited will play their next match against Mohammedan
Sporting Club Limited while Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society will meet
Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra.

Both the matches will be held on Friday (Feb. 26) at the same venue.

Chittagong Abahani Limited earlier, lost to Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club by
1-2 goals, beat Arambagh by 1-0 goal, defeated Saif Sporting Club by 1-0
goal, lost by 0-1 goal to Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra, played to a 1-1 goal
draw with Abahani Limited, Dhaka, lost to 0-1 goal to Bashundhara Kings,
played to a 2-2 goals draw with Uttar Baridhar Club, played to a 3-3 goals
with Bangladesh Police Football Club and beat Brothers Union Club by 1-0
goal.

While, Rahmatganj earlier played to a 1-1 goal draw with Saif Sporting
Club, suffered 0-1 defeat to Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra, lost to Abahani
Limited 0-1, went down by 0-3 goals defeat to Bashundhara Kings, beat Uttar
Baridhara Club by 3-1 goals, played to a goalless draw with Bangladesh Police
Football Club, blanked Brothers Union Club by 2-0 goals and suffered by 0-2
goals defeat to Mohammedan Sporting Club.

Wednesday’s matches: Bashundhara Kings vs Sheikh Russel at Shaheed
Dhirendranath Datta Stadium in Cumilla at 3 pm and Saif Sporting Club vs
Uttar Baridhara Club BNS at 4 pm.
