Amu mourns death of journalist Syed Abul Maksud
DHAKA, Feb 23, 2021 (BSS) – Awami League Advisory Council Member and 14-party alliance spokesperson Amir Hossain Amu today expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of journalist, columnist, researcher and civil society figure Syed Abul Maksud.
In a message of condolence, he said the death of a progressive and patriot citizen like Syed Abul Maksud is an irreparable loss to the nation.
Amu said the country has lost an eminent intellectual at the death of Maksud who played an outstanding role to enlighten the society through practicing of free thoughts.
He prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to bereaved family.
Maksud passed away at a hospital in the capital following a sudden illness this evening at the age of 74.
