Int’l Holy Quran Recitation Competition begins tomorrow

DHAKA, Feb 23, 2021 (BSS) – An International Holy Quran Recitation
Competition under the Dhaka OIC Youth Capital 2020 Bangladesh Programme will
begin in the city tomorrow, marking the birth centenary of Father of the
Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

State Minister for Religious Affairs Md Faridul Haque Khan will inaugurate
the competition as the chief guest at Islamic Foundation Auditorium in Baitul
Mokarram National Mosque at 3pm, said a press release here today.

State Minister for Youth and Sports Md Zahid Ahsan Russel will address the
inaugural function as the special guest with Religious Secretary Md Nurul
Islam in the chair.

Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF) President Taha Ayhan, Foreign
Secretary (senior secretary) Masud Bin Momen and Youth and Sports Secretary
Md Akhter Hossain will be present at the function as guests of honor.

Governor of the Islamic Foundation’s Board of Governors Dr Mawlana
Mohammad Kafiluddin Sarker will address the function as Islamic scholar while
Director General of the foundation Dr Md Shafiqur Rahman will deliver welcome
address.

Besides, a press briefing on the Holy Quran Recitation Competition will be
held at the venue. Religious Affairs, Youth and Sports Affairs and Islamic
Foundation in association with Foreign Affairs Ministry, ICYF and OIC Youth
Capital are jointly organising the event.

Representatives from different OIC member countries will join the
inaugural function using online platforms.
