Amar Ekushey observed in Manikganj
MANIKGANJ, Feb 21, 2021 (BSS) – The people of Manikganj observed the Amar Ekushey, and the ‘International Mother Language Day’ in a befitting manner .
On this occasion, Manikganj District Administration observed the day with elaborate programmes in the district town.
The programmes of the day included placing wreaths at the Shaheed Minar, hoisting of the national flags at half-mast atop all government, semi-government, autonomous and private buildings and morning procession.
Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahed Maleque, MP placed wreath at the Manikganj district Central Shaheed Minar in the morning and took part in the morning procession.
Drawing , recitation and hand writing competitions for the children, distribution of prizes and cultural function , special prayers for the martyrs at Collectorate Mosque, discussion meeting , reception to the family members of Shaheed Rafiq and others listed alive language movement heroes were other programmes of the day .
The programme of the day started at 12.01 hour today (on 21 February) with placing wreaths at the central Shaheed Minar of the district at the Manikganj Government High School play ground.
Four day long programme also was organized at Rafiq Nagar,”Shaheed Rafiq Mukto Monch” the native village of Shaheed Rafiq with which ended today.
