Kings extend winning run
DHAKA, Feb 20, 2021 (BSS) – Star-studded Bashundhara Kings extended their winning run in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) football when they came from behind defeated Saif Sporting Club by 2-1 goals held today at Bangabandhu National Stadium (BNS) here.
In the day’s match, striker Tawhidul Alam Sabuz and Brazilian forward Robson scored one goal each securing 9th victory for Kings while Nigerian forward John Okoli scored the lone goal for Saif.
John Okoli opened an account scoring the first goal for Saif in the 18th minute while forward Tawhidul Alam Sabuz restored the parity for Kings in the 33rd minute of the match.
Robson sealed the victory scoring the second goal for Kings in the 37th minute of the match. Saif SC however tried heart and soul to stage a fight back creating some scoring chance but could not convert any lack of proper finishing in the remaining proceeding.
Bashundhara Kings dominated the proceeding, especially in the first half, and notched their deserving victory while Saif Sporting Club were unlucky as they could not make the best use of the opportunities they got during the proceeding.
With the day’s win, Kings extended their lead with 28 points from ten matches while Saif Sporting Club remained at their previous credit of 13 points from nine matches.
Bashundhara Kings will play their next match against Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra to be held on Wednesday (Feb. 24) at Shaheed Dhirendranath Datta Stadium in Cumilla while Saif Sporting Club meets Uttar Baridhara Club on the same day at BNS.
Monday’s matches: Bangladesh Police Football Club vs Lieutenant Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club at Bangabandhu National Stadium (BNS) at 3.30 pm, Brothers Union Club vs Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra at BNS at 6 pm.
