DHAKA, Feb 19, 2021 (BSS) – Dr ABM Mahmood, a retired professor of Dhaka
University (DU) History department, has passed away at the age of 83.
He breathed his last at 5.11 pm on Thursday at capitals Labaid hospital
after suffering from old-age complications, his nephew Imtiaz Saadruddin
Mahmood told BSS.
He was survived by his wife, son, daughter and a host of well-wishers.
His Namaz-e-janaza was held on the premises of Dhaka University’s
Central Mosque at 9.30 pm Thursday.
Later, he laid to eternal rest at Banani graveyard around 11:00 pm on
the same day.
Meanwhile, in a condolence message, Vice Chancellor of the university
Professor Md Akhtaruzzaman expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of
late professor and prayed for salvation of the departed soul.
