ICAB delegation meets Tipu
DHAKA, Feb 18, 2021 (BSS)- A delegation of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) paid a courtesy call on Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi at his office on Wednesday.
ICAB President Mahmudul Hasan Khushru led the delegation, a press release said here tonight.
During the meeting, the ICAB president highlighted the importance of the Institute; allotment of RAJUK Land for academic campus and a dormitory for CA students, budget for ICAB Project on Capacity Building, Automation Process and other related issues for the development and flourishing chartered accountancy profession.
The Minister laid special emphasis on increasing the number of Chartered Accountants from existing 2200 to 12000 which is the demand of the domestic market.
He envisaged up skilling of the profession to be in consistency with the international standards.
The Minister expressed his happiness to know the international acceptance of Bangladeshi CA certificate.
Other members of the delegation included -Vice Presidents- Md Abdul Kader Joaddar FCA and Maria Howlader FCA, Council member Md Moniruzzaman FCA and Chief Executive Officer, ICAB Shubhashis Bose. Mohammad Mashooqur Rahman Sikder, PS (Deputy Secretary) of the Commerce Minister and Md. Aminul Islam, Deputy Secretary of the same Ministry.
