Month-long BSCIC Fair begins in Bogura on Mujib Year
DHAKA, Feb 18, 2021 (BSS) – A month-long Industrial Products Fair-2021 of Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) began today in Bogura district on the occasion of Mujib Year, the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
BSCIC Chairman Md. Mushtaq Hasan formally inaugurated the function at Altafunnesa Playground, Bogura as the chief guest with additional deputy commissioner (general) of the district Ujjwal Kumar Ghosh in the chair.
Ali Haider Chowdhury, Additional Superintendent of Police of Bogura, Zafar Bayazid, Regional Director (Rajshahi), Advocate AKM Mahbubur Rahman, Mayor of Bogura Municipality, Md. Masudur Rahman Milon, President of Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Bogra, T Zaman Niketa, President, NASIB of Bogura, among others, were present as special guests.
The chief guest said, “BSCIC has stood by the affected CMSME entrepreneurs by organizing the fair on the occasion of the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the father of the greatest Bengali nation of all time.” Despite the outbreak of corona virus, there was no shortage of food in the country as the seventy six industrial cities of BSCIC continued to produce essential food items, he added.
The fair is organized in compliance with health hygiene rules so that entrepreneurs can make up for the loss caused by the corona virus by marketing their products.
He also urged the buyers to wear masks and follow the hygiene rules.
Entrepreneurs have set up stalls of silk sari-cloth, leather and leather products, various handicraft and cottage industries, processed food items, cosmetics, boutiques, batiks and other local products at 80 stalls at the fair.
Besides, handicrafts and cottage industries and honey made by the trainees from BSCIC will be sold at the fair.
The fair will remain open for visitors from 10am to 8pm every day.
