Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Dhaka Merathon-2021 held in Gaibandha
GAIBANDHA, Feb 18, 2021 (BSS)-Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Dkaka Merathon-2021 was held in the district on Wednesday amid much enthusiasm and festivity.
The Merathan was held at the supervision of Bangladesh army marking the Mujib Year, officially termed as Mujib Barsho, the birth centenary of Father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The digital merathan started from Gaibandha DC office and ended at the same venue after parading different roads of the district town.. Later, DC Abdul Matin distributed the crest and money to the winners.
Earlier, the DC formally inaugurated the marathon on the premises of his office of the town here by releasing balloons in the sky as the chief guest. Senior officials of the district administration, police super Muhammad Towhidul Islam, Sadar UNO Md Rafiul Alam, general secretary of district Awami League Abu Bakar Siddique and media men were present on the occasion.
Around one thousand people from all walks of life including district and upazila level officials, political leaders, and journalists took part in the 5 km long marathon on the Gaibandha-Palashbari Road spontaneously.
