Ctg. Abahani return winning streak in BPL
DHAKA, Feb. 17, 2021 (BSS)- Chittagong Abahani Limited returned winning
streak in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football as they edged past
Brothers Union Club by a lone goal held today at Bangabandhu National Stadium
(BNS) here.
The first half ended goalless draw though both the teams created several
scoring chances but failed to take lead.
After the breather, Chittagong Abahani Limited came to the field with more
organized way creating pressure on Brothers Union Club. Manik finally broke
the deadlock scoring the all-important goal for Chittagong Abahani in the
72nd minute of the match.
After that, Brothers Union Club tried heart and soul to stage a fight back
in the match in the remaining proceeding but failed to convert any of those
into a goal.
With the day’s win, the port city team Chittagong Abahani Limited secured
12 points from nine matches while the all-orange Gopibagh outfit Brothers
Union Club remained at their previous collection of one point playing eight
matches.
Chittagong Abahani will play their next match against Rahmatganj Muslim
and Friends Society on Tuesday (Feb. 23) following the match between Brothers
Union Club vs Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra to be held on
Monday (Feb. 22). Both the matches will be held at the same venue.
