Science-based education for young generations stressed

RANGPUR, Feb 16, 2021 (BSS) – Speakers at a programme said young generations should be inspired more in science and technology-based education in order to build a developed and prosperous country.

They stressed on spreading of the time-befitting science- and technology- based modern education among young generations to enhance their innovative capabilities for accelerating national development.

The views were expressed today at the inaugural function of the district level Science and Technology Week, Science Fair and National Science Olympiad on Kartoa Collectorate Shikhhya Niketon ground in Panchagarh district town.

Panchagarh district administration under the supervision of the National Science and Technology Museum is organising the event in observance of the 41st and 42nd National Science and Technology Weeks.

The district administration is organising the event abiding by the health directives in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic to attract students in science- and technology-based education for more innovations to further speed up development.

Deputy Commissioner of Panchagarh Dr. Sabina Yasmin launched observance of the week by releasing balloons as the chief guest.

Presided over by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) of Panchagarh Azad Jahan, Principal of Panchagarh MR Government College Professor Md. Dewar Hossain Prodhan, Head of the Department of Economics of Government Mohila College Hasanur Rashid Babu and Panchagarh Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Arif Hossain addressed the occasion as special guests.

Students of different educational institutions of Panchagarh have set up 30 stalls on the fair premises projecting diverse scientific projects, research activities and innovations and ICT-based technologies.

Curator of the National Science and Technology Museum Md. Anisur Rahman delivered welcome speech in the function moderated by Assistant Commissioner (ICT) Mehedi Hasan Khan Shaon.
