AK Azad elected vice president of ICC Bangladesh

DHAKA, Feb 16, 2021 (BSS) – A K Azad has been elected as a vice
president of ICC Bangladesh Executive Board during its meeting held on
Monday.

The post of vice president became vacant with the death of Latifur
Rahman on 1 July 2020, said a press release.

Azad is the chairman and managing director of Ha-Meem Group of
Companies. As a former President of FBCCI and Bangladesh Chamber of
Industries, he has contributed in the policy formulation for development of
the industrial sector of the country.

He is also the founder of one of the most popular daily newspapers in
the country – The Daily Samakal.

AK Azad is the founder of the daily Samakal. He is also director of
Shahjalal Islami Bank Ltd and president of Dhaka University Alumni
Association.

He has been honored with numerous socio-economic awards for his
achievements over the years.
