GKDACC demands implementation of KDA’s on-going projects

KHULNA, Feb 15, 2021 (BSS) – Leaders of Greater Khulna Development Action Coordination Committee (GKDACC), a citizen forum, today demanded of the Khulna Development Authority (KDA) to prepare a -50 year sustainable development plan for building an environment friendly Khulna city.

They also demanded immediate implementation of on-going development projects including appointment of it’s Chairman from public representatives or Private sectors, so that people can easily get their cherished development benefits before opening the Padma Bridge.

As part of their agitation programme, the committee leaders made the demand during a sit in demonstration programme held infront of KDA building at Shibbari intersection in the city.

Earlier, the GKDACC, enforced the week-long agitation programme in protest against what it called various irregularities, corruption and implementation of different development projects by KDA.

Listing out different development projeccts across the country, the speakers said, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is very much cordial and sincere for development of Greater Khulna and allocated thousands crore money to KDA in last ten years, but the organisation could not implement the projects particularly Rupsha-Shipyard by-pass roads.

Chaired by GKDACC President Sheikh Ashrafuzzaman, the programme, was addressed, among others, by educationist Zafar Imam, Khulna Press Club president S M zahid Hossain, Vice-President of Khulna City awami league shyamol Singha Roy, President of city unit BNP Women party Principal Rehena Akter, KCC panel mayor Aminul Islam Munna, Ali Akbor Tipu and KCC Councilors
