31 entities get productivity award

DHAKA, Feb 15, 2021 (BSS) – Thirty one business entities today received
the “National Productivity and Quality Excellence Award-2019” for their
significant contribution to the industrial sector through maintaining
productivity and quality of products.

The Bangladesh Employers Federation and the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and
Industry (DCCI) also received the ‘Intuitional Appreciation Award-2019’ under
‘Trade body and Association Category.

Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun handed over the awards to
the representatives of the recipient organisations as the chief guest at a
function held at a hotel in the city, said a press release here.

State Minister for Industries Kamal Ahmed Majumder and Federation of
Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) President Sheikh Fazle
Fahim attended the function as special guests while Industries Secretary
KM Ali Azam presided over the function.

Speaking on the occasion, Humayun said the National Productivity
Organisation (NPO) is working relentlessly to increase productivity, job
creation and quality development of goods and services.

The minister underscored the need for setting up environment-friendly
industrial establishments for increasing green productivity in factories.

Kamal Ahmed Majumder said the Ministry of Industries and its subordinate
bodies are working for the creation and development of entrepreneurs.

He urged the industrialists to give more attention towards the workers and
provide them regular training.

The industries, which will be awarded for their best performance in the
economic sector in 2019, have been selected under six categories that include
large, medium, small, micro, cottage and state-owned business entities.

Under the large industries category, the awardees are Banga Building
Materials Ltd, RFL Electronics Ltd, Rangpur Metal Industries Ltd, Ispahani
Tea Ltd, Natore Agro Ltd, Plummy Fashions, Universal Jeans Ltd, Genesis
Washing Ltd, RFL Plastics Ltd, Durable Plastics Ltd, Akij Jute Mills Ltd,
Ahyan Jute Mills Ltd, One Bank Ltd, Sonar Bangla Insurance Ltd, Brain Station
23 Ltd and Hatil Complex Ltd,

Under the medium industries category, the awardees are Get Well Limited,
Northern Flour Mills Limited, Romania Food and Beverage limited, Concept
Knitting Limited, Bongo Plastic International Limited, Packmat Industries
Limited, Basumati Distribution Limited and QNS Shipping Logistics Limited.

Under the small Industries category, the awardees are SR Handicrafts and
Rangpur Foundry Limited.

Under the micro industries category, the awardees are Masco Dairy
Enterprise and Anata Engineering.

Under the state-owned business entities category, the awardees are Gazi
Wires Limited, Carew and Company (Bangladesh) Ltd and Bangladesh Livestock
Research Institute.
