BTRC officials visit Vivo Bangladesh plant
DHAKA, Feb 15, 2021 (BSS) – Officials of Bangladesh Telecommunication
Regulatory Commission (BTRC) visited the local manufacturing plant of global
smart phone manufacturer Vivo here.
Director General of BTRC’s Spectrum Division Brig Gen Shahidul Alam led
the team and expressed satisfaction over the use of latest technology in this
smart phone manufacturing plant, said a press release today.
Product Director of vivo Bangladesh, David accompanied the BTRC team and
replied to their queries during the plant visit. Then they joined a
discussion session and exchanged views on various issues.
Expressing satisfaction over the uses of latest technology, Shahidul Alam
suggested Vivo to set up a research and development (R&D) Centre here.
Vivo established its smartphone manufacturing plant in Narayanganj, on the
outskirts of Dhaka, in 2019. Around 20 lakh units of smartphones are
assembled and produced every year at this plant where most of the employees
are Bangladeshi.
