Panel for upcoming SCBA election finalised
DHAKA, Feb 14, 2021 (BSS): Bangabandu Awami Ainjibi Samanoy Parishad has finalised the panel for the upcoming Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) polls of 2021-2022, likely to be held on March11-12.
Bangabandhu Awami Ainjibi Parishad member secretary and Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Tapash declared the panel yesterday at the Nomination Board meeting held at the Bangladesh Bar Council office here.
Bangladesh Awami League presidium member and former law minister Abdul Matin Khasru and Advocate Mohammad Abdul Alim Mia Jewel will vie for the posts of president and general secretary respectively.
Advocate Muhammad Shafiq Ullah and Advocate Mohammad Ali Azam will contest for the two posts of vice-president, Dr. Md. Iqbal Karim for treasurer, Barrister Safayet Sultana Rumi and Advocate Noor-e Alam Ujjwal for the two posts of assistant secretary.
Advocate Mintu Kumar Mandal, Barrister Muntasir Uddin Ahmed, Barrister Md Sanwar Hossain, Advocate ABM Shibli Salekin, Advocate Md Sirajul Haque, Advocate Mohiuddin Ahmed and Advocate Mahfuzur Rahman Roman will contest for the posts of members of executive committee.
The Supreme Court Bar Executive Committee consists of 14 members. Of these, 7 are secretarial posts and 7 are executive member posts.
